The School for Bookbinding Arts

Policies
Advance payment of tuition is required. Payment of tuition is what secures a student’s place on the class roster. Students will be alerted if applicable materials fee are due at registration or if the materials fee. Materials fees are listed along with the tuition amount on this website as well as in the printed catalog of courses (which can be accessed as a downloadable PDF on this website).
Workshop tuition may be paid using credit card (but not debit), cash, or check (made out to “Cat Tail Run”). A $25 service fee is added to each workshop tuition amount that is processed through eVA (the Commonwealth of Virginia’s electronic payment and procurement portal). Please note: Those materials fees due directly to instructors at class are payable according to how each instructor can accept those monies. The class letters that go out two weeks prior to each workshop will list at the top of the letter how that particular instructor can accept materials fees. It is unlikely that any of the instructors are registered with eVA or will register with eVA.
Students withdrawing from a course seven or fewer calendar days prior to the first day of the workshop will not receive full tuition refunds.
Workshops include instructor demonstration of techniques and student practice time.
Where possible, supplemental handouts accompany each class.
The School for Bookbinding Arts and Cat Tail Run Hand Bookbinding reserve the right to cancel classes with a 48-hour notification with a full tuition refund to students. The circumstances leading to cancellation include inclement weather or other circumstances beyond our control that would interfere with the safety of students and/or staff.
In the event that an instructor is unable to hold their class, The School for Bookbinding Arts of Cat Tail Run Hand Bookbinding will make every effort to reschedule the course and will refund tuitions to students or transfer tuitions to the rescheduled course as needed.
The School for Bookbinding Arts and Cat Tail Run Hand Bookbinding reserve the right to remove a disruptive student from a class or from a class roster, with or without a refund of tuition.
